Kiffin's exit to predictable "shockers"

This week in sports was definitely an interesting one, from the surprising move by Lane Kiffin to some very surprising NFL upsets, yup this week had it all.
Last week Pete Carroll decided to leave USC and head to Seattle in a mind boggling move. What was even worse was Lane Kiffin’s decision to ditch the University of Tennessee and run back to Los Angeles to become the new head coach of the same USC Trojans he was once a coordinator for.
After all of the drama filled season that Lane Kiffin put Tennessee through he jumps ship and leaves Tennessee with no head coach and many of the recruits who came to play for Kiffin stunned; many of those recruits have since jumped ship as well. I’m not sure what’s more shocking the fact the Kiffin left USC or that USC hired Lane Kiffin a guy who went 7-6 at Tennessee after promising such high achievements and causing so many problems with his mouth.
One thing that not too many people are focused on is that Kiffin could have two teams under suspension at the same time. USC is under investigation from the Reggie Bush debacle a few years ago and Tennessee is also in danger due to violations made by Kiffin himself.
Not surprisingly, most of the Tennessee fans didn’t take too kindly to the news which caused a riot similar to those in L.A. after the Lakers won the NBA title a couple years back. Here is a picture of what some great Tennessee students did.

You gotta love it! I seriously doubt Kiffin’s ability as a coach, but now he is in an easier conference and he is in a place where his team plays second fiddle to the Los Angeles Lakers so not as much pressure I guess. This just makes me happy because USC had such good luck for so long that it’s good to finally see them struggle… GO DAWGS.

Last week I made some predictions for the wild card round in the NFL playoffs, sadly they were all wrong, but I’m sure I’m not the only one. Two of the games, Jets/Bengals and Ravens/Patriots, were big surprises with the underdogs dominating both games. The other two were up in the air with pretty good matchups.

The Ravens to me were the biggest surprise, coming out and laying New England flat on their ass becoming the first team to beat the Patriots at home in the playoffs in over 30 years, amazing.
This week is a great week for football. Here are my predictions. The Colts will come out a bit rusty after over a month of not taking a game seriously but will rebound in the second half for a win over the confident Ravens. The Chargers will absolutely dominate the jets who I don’t think even deserved to make the playoffs to begin with. The Cowboys finally got a playoff win! Took only 13 years to get it. They will go into Minnesota and Favre and co. will bring them back down to earth by embarrassing them on national television.
People are predicting the Cardinals and Saints to combine for almost 100 points which is ridiculous. It will be high scoring but not that much. I have the Saints winning the shootout and finally getting rid of those overachieving Cardinals.
Mark McGwire admitted to steroids this week, big shocker. I used to like Big Mac but after seeing his interview I think the guy has taking so many steroids that his nuts aren’t the only things that have shrunk. He started out good and I really felt for the guy I did. Then he said he only took the steroids to help heal from injuries and to stay healthy, well hello that’s still cheating you get the unfair advantage of playing more games that guys like Ruth and Maris didn’t have.
Then when asked if he thought he could have hit 70 home runs even without the steroids he said that he had no doubt in his mind he could have. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The sad thing is that I think Big Mac truly believes himself, he truly thinks he only took steroids to stay healthy and that he really could have hit 70 without the juice.
He went on to say that he was born to hit homeruns and that they were still talking about the homeruns he hit back in high school. What pathetic high school did he go to that they are still talking about homeruns hit by a cheater 2 decades ago? Get over yourself Mark, you are out of your mind if you think this confession will help your chances in Cooperstown, you are branded for life buddy, I hereby change your nickname for Big Mac to Big Asterisk because that’s all you will ever be.
Blake Griffin pulled a Greg Oden this week and he will be out for his entire rookie season. Hope he doesn’t continue on the same path as Oden and get hurt next year too or the Clippers curse shall continue. Honestly how unlucky can one franchise be? Not only do they have the worst luck, they have to share an arena and a city with one of the greatest franchises of all time. Sorry Clip fans you should have gone with the Purple and Gold when picking out your colors.
This was a good week in sports and a great week for me because I got to catch my girlfriend Michelle Beadle on SportsNation all week. Well, see you next time.

  1. I can see why you think Pete Caroll going to an aging Seahawk team that is gradually getting worse is mind boggling but let me argue why he would want to go. He reached the pinnacle of his college coaching career by winning back to back national championships in 03 and 04. Saying that he would want to step the challenge up and go to the nfl and conviently the gm and head coaching spot is open. Now he can have a staff of guys he wants and bring in the players they want and try to go capture seattle's first superbowl which would be the highest pinnacle of coaching football.

Now Lane Kiffin on the other hand I totally agree with you. I know USC is his dream job but to do what he did to Tennessee is almost unforgivable.

I can't believe you thought jets over the bengals was a surprise that game was such a tossup. The Bengals offense has been so incosistent this year and yet, if Graham didn't miss those two field goals, they would've had a chance to drive down the field for a come from behind win which seems like how they won all of their games this year. But congrats to the jets, their season ends after that win. I pretty much agree with what you had to say with baltimore and the new england faggots.

I think baltimore is a great team but they have to run into a team that has beaten them seven straight times... I mean eight straight times.

I disagree that the cardinals are overachievers. I personally think they're underachieve with what they have. But giving up 45+ points two games in a row you have to lose somewhere and it would be in the superdome.

Whoever comes out of the Cowboys/Vikings game is going to the superbowl. They both, to me, look like the most complete teams in the NFL. With great passing attacks, good running games, and solid defenses, I think they can both stop drew brees and the saints in the championship game. But I've liked Minnesota all year and not picking against them and I'm thinking of a Vikings/Chargers superbowl in a couple of weeks.

What a shame that Blake Griffin doesn't even get to play this year. Hopefully he gets healthy and becomes a productive player next year. Many people think that the only upside to the clippers season is how many lottery balls they will have but hey, They're only five games out of the eight seed in the western conference at this point. That's amazing.

FUCK MARK MCGWIRE WHAT A LITTLE BITCH CHEATING IS FOR FAGGOTS.

Oh yeah, Michelle Beadle is hot.
